COMP Cams Camshaft CS XR294HR-10

This is the COMP Cams Xtreme Energy XR294HR-10 hydraulic roller camshaft, designed for Chevrolet Small Block Gen 1 engines. It's built to bridge the gap between mild street cams and aggressive race-only grinds, offering a notable increase in torque and throttle response without sacrificing too much drivability. This camshaft is a solid choice for street/strip applications where you're looking for improved performance, especially when paired with other upgrades like headers and a higher stall torque converter.

The XR294HR-10 features a 242-degree intake and 248-degree exhaust duration at .050 lift, with a .574-inch intake and .574-inch exhaust lift. These specifications are well-suited for engines with around 9.5:1 compression and are designed to work with a 3000+ RPM stall speed torque converter and appropriate gearing. While it aims for a smooth idle compared to some race cams, expect a rougher idle characteristic due to its performance-oriented design. It's important to verify your engine's compatibility before installation. This camshaft is intended for factory flat tappet Small Blocks and does not fit factory roller camshafts found in many 1985 and newer GM vehicles, nor does it fit LS-based engines. For 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines, a specific oiling groove on the 5th journal is required. This camshaft is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
