COMP Cams Camshaft Kit CB 299T HR-7 BMT

This COMP Cams Big Mutha' Thumpr camshaft kit is built around a hydraulic roller camshaft with a 243/257 degree intake/exhaust duration. It's designed for Chevrolet Big Block engines originally equipped with flat tappet camshafts, like those found in models such as the 1967-1973 Chevrolet Chevelle, 1967-1974 Chevrolet Corvette, and 1967-1976 Chevrolet Impala. This kit is intended for street/strip applications where a very rough idle is acceptable and performance is the priority.

To get the most out of this camshaft, COMP Cams recommends a minimum of 9.5:1 compression, a 2800+ RPM stall speed torque converter, and upgraded intake, gears, and headers. The kit itself is comprehensive, including the camshaft, hydraulic roller lifters, valve springs, retainers, valve locks, valve stem seals, a timing chain set, and assembly lube. You'll also find decals and instructions to help guide you through the installation process. This is a complete package designed to make a significant change in your engine's performance profile.

Because this camshaft is designed for aggressive performance, it produces a very rough idle. It's important to ensure your engine setup can support its demands, including the recommended compression ratio and supporting modifications.
