This COMP Cams camshaft kit is built around a Magnum 230/230 hydraulic flat tappet camshaft, designed for Chevrolet Small Block engines. It's a popular choice for street machines looking to get more out of their engine, but it does require some supporting modifications to work best. You'll want at least a 2500+ stall torque converter, headers, and appropriate rear-end gearing to take full advantage of the improved performance this camshaft offers. Expect a noticeable, rougher idle characteristic with this setup.

The SK-Kit includes everything you need to get the job done: the camshaft itself, a set of lifters, a timing chain set, assembly lube, decals, and installation instructions. This kit is specifically for Chevrolet GEN 1 Small Blocks, covering a wide range of displacements from 262 up to 400 cubic inches. It's important to note that this camshaft is not compatible with factory roller camshaft Small Blocks, which were gradually introduced from the mid-80s onward, or with the LS-based engines.
