COMP Cams is well-known for making performance camshafts and valvetrain components that help engines breathe better and make more power. This SK-Kit, the CS XR276HR-12, is designed for small block Chevrolet engines from 1987 and newer that came with factory roller camshafts, like many Camaros, Corvettes, and C/K series trucks. It's a hydraulic roller camshaft kit that aims to give your engine a noticeable bump in performance, especially when paired with the right supporting modifications.

This kit includes the camshaft itself, a set of hydraulic roller lifters, a timing chain set to ensure your camshaft and crankshaft stay perfectly synchronized, assembly lube to get everything started right, and even some decals. The camshaft profile, designated as XE Computer Controlled, features a 224-degree intake duration and 230-degree exhaust duration at .050 inch lift, with a .495 inch intake and .502 inch exhaust lift. This specific grind is optimized for engines running modified TPI fuel injection systems, including the intake, runners, and exhaust, and will require custom tuning to get the most out of it. A 2000 RPM or higher stall speed torque converter is also recommended for automatic transmissions to keep the engine in its power band.

Installing this kit is a significant undertaking, typically done during an engine rebuild or when upgrading the top end.
