If you're building a high-RPM hydraulic roller valvetrain for serious racing or a high-performance street/strip application, you need valve springs that can keep up. COMP Cams Dual Conical Valve Springs are designed to handle the demands of aggressive camshaft profiles and high engine speeds without the common issues found in traditional dual cylindrical springs.

Unlike cylindrical springs that rely on an interference fit to control surge, these conical springs use their unique geometry to dampen spring surge naturally. This self-damping characteristic, combined with the lower kinetic energy in the upper coils, is a notable breakthrough in valve spring design. They are installed with stepped retainers and spring seats, which create separation and allow the springs' progressive nature to work effectively. This design provides outstanding damping without the rubbing friction, heat, and surface damage that can occur with other types of springs. These are specifically recommended for circle track, road race, and drag racing, as well as all-out street/strip builds using optimized lifters.

This set includes 16 springs, each with a 1.657" outer diameter. They are designed to be installed at a height of 2.000". This setup is well-suited for applications aiming for maximum valve lift up to .750" on the intake and .750" on the exhaust, with a maximum outer spring diameter of 1.074".
