If you're building a high-RPM Duramax engine, you know that standard shims can struggle under extreme spring pressures. COMP Cams has a straightforward fix with their GM Duramax Spring Locators. This part acts as a thin, hardened steel alloy seat that does more than just protect your cylinder head and existing shim; it also precisely locates and holds the valve spring where it needs to be.
Unlike older designs that required significant machining to fit, this locator features an inboard locating shoulder. This means the centering and spring-holding shoulder is on the inside, making installation much simpler. The 1.100-inch outer diameter is a good match for many valve springs used in .470-inch guide applications, and the .060-inch thickness adds minimal stack height while providing solid support.
