When you're pushing your GM Duramax engine hard, especially in racing applications, standard shims might not hold up to the extreme spring pressures and high RPMs. COMP Cams has a straightforward fix with these valve spring locators. They offer a thin, hardened steel alloy seat that does more than just protect your cylinder head and the shim underneath; it also precisely locates and holds the valve spring where it needs to be.
Unlike older designs that required significant machining to fit an external cup, these locators feature an inboard shoulder. This design centers the seat and keeps the spring securely in place. The 1.100-inch outer diameter is a good match for COMP Cams valve springs used in guide applications, ensuring a solid setup for demanding engine builds.
