These COMP Cams High Energy hydraulic lifters are built with a special powdered metal iron alloy pushrod seat that’s heat-treated for extra strength and wear resistance. They fit a wide range of Chevrolet inline 6-cylinder engines from 194 to 292 cubic inches, as well as 90-degree V6 engines like the 4.3L from '85 and up, and earlier 200-229 cubic inch V6s. The patented orifice metering valve is key here; it precisely controls oil flow to the rocker arms, preventing excessive oiling at higher RPMs and maintaining continuous contact between the metering valve and the pushrod seat. This design helps extend the life of the lifters by providing a larger load-bearing surface thanks to their longer piston compared to conventional lifters. You'll also notice a quicker response from the engine because the lightweight check valve disc allows for increased engine speed before valve float occurs, giving you better control across all engine speeds and loads.
