If you're building a performance engine that's going to see high RPMs, you know that standard shims just won't cut it under extreme spring pressures. COMP Cams has a straightforward fix with their ID Spring Locators. This part acts as a thin, hardened steel alloy seat that does more than just protect your cylinder head and shim; it also precisely locates and holds the valve spring right where it needs to be.
Unlike older designs that required extensive machining to fit an external cup, this ID locator features a shoulder on the inside. This inboard locating shoulder centers the seat and keeps the spring stable. The 1.510-inch outer diameter of this locator is a good match for COMP Cams' 26120, 26055, and 26056 valve springs when you're working with .630-inch outer diameter guides.
