With a .520 inch inside diameter, this COMP Cams ID Spring Seat is made from hardened steel alloy. It's designed to protect your cylinder head and the shim underneath it, while also centering and holding the valve spring securely in place. This is important because standard shims often can't handle the high spring pressures and RPMs found in today's performance engines.
Unlike older designs that required significant machining to fit, this locator features an inboard shoulder. This means it centers itself and holds the spring from the inside, making installation more straightforward. The seat itself has a .060 inch thickness, a 1.270 inch outside diameter, and the .520 inch inside diameter is sized to fit many common valve springs.
