If you're building a performance engine that will see high RPMs, you know that standard shims can bend or deform under extreme spring pressure. COMP Cams offers a smart solution with these ID Spring Seats. They're designed to work with today's race engines where spring pressures are much higher than stock.
These valve spring locators are made from a hardened steel alloy. They create a thin, solid seat that not only protects the cylinder head and any shim you might use, but also helps to center and hold the valve spring securely in place. Unlike older designs that required machining the head to accept an outer cup, these feature an inboard locating shoulder and spring cup, making installation more straightforward.
This set includes 16 spring seats, each with a 1.300-inch outer diameter and a .570-inch inner diameter. The .060-inch thickness provides a solid base without adding excessive height.
