When you're pushing your engine hard, especially at high RPMs, standard shims just won't cut it. COMP Cams has a straightforward fix with these ID Spring Seats. They're made from a hardened steel alloy that acts as a solid seat, protecting both the cylinder head and the shim underneath. More importantly, they help keep your valve springs centered and firmly in place, which is crucial for consistent performance under extreme pressure.
Unlike older designs that required significant machining to fit, these locators feature an inboard shoulder. This design centers the seat and holds the spring securely from the inside. The 1.540" outer diameter and .640" inner diameter are a good match for COMP Cams' own 924, 925, and 939 dual valve springs, making them a practical choice for many performance builds.
