COMP Cams is well-known for making performance valvetrain components. If you're building a race engine that's going to see serious RPMs, you know that standard shims can't always handle the pressure. These ID Spring Seats from COMP Cams offer a straightforward fix to keep your valve springs seated and your heads protected.
These locators are made from hardened steel, which means they're built to withstand the extreme spring pressures and high RPMs found in performance applications. Unlike older designs that required machining the cylinder head to accept an outer locating cup, these feature an inboard locating shoulder. This design centers the seat and holds the spring securely in place, preventing issues that can arise from a spring shifting under load. The .640" ID is a good match for many popular COMP Cams dual valve springs, like their 996, 998, 26099, and 991 series.
