If you're building a race engine that's going to see serious RPMs, you know that standard shims just won't cut it under extreme spring pressures. COMP Cams has a straightforward fix with these ID Spring Locators. They act as a hardened steel alloy seat, which does a great job of protecting both your cylinder head and the shim underneath.
What's really neat about these is how they help keep your valve springs centered and firmly in place. Unlike older designs that required extensive machining to fit an outer locating cup, these feature an inboard locating shoulder. This means the shoulder is on the inside, making installation simpler while still ensuring the spring stays put. The .570 inch ID is a good match for popular dual valve springs like the COMP Cams 26921 and 26926.
