These COMP Cams Pro Magnum Hydraulic Roller Lifters are built with a reduced travel design, which is key for maintaining proper valve train position at higher engine speeds. When an engine is running fast, stock lifters can sometimes "pump up" too much, causing the valves to stay open longer than they should. This can lead to lost power or even damage. These lifters are designed to prevent that by keeping the internal piston in a more consistent location.
They're intended for blocks that originally came with a hydraulic roller cam, covering a wide range of vehicles from 1987 to present, including Gen III, LS1, LS2, and LS6 engines. You'll find them used in popular models like the Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cadillac Escalade. Keep in mind that these lifters require an adjustable valve train setup, and you'll need to pre-load them to between .002" and .004" for them to work correctly.
