These COMP Cams hydraulic roller lifters feature a short travel design, which allows for a light pre-load and reduced oil volume. This makes them a great choice for Chevrolet Small Block engines that are built to rev high, especially those originally equipped with hydraulic roller cams from '87 onward, including LT and LS applications. They are a non-link bar style lifter, fitting directly into blocks designed for them.
The short travel aspect is key here; it means the lifter doesn't need as much plunger travel to compensate for valve lash and thermal expansion. This results in a more consistent valve train operation at higher RPMs, which is crucial when you're pushing the engine hard.
