It's all about creating that race-car sound and feel, thanks to its early intake valve opening and long exhaust duration, which results in optimal valve overlap.
Beyond the sound, this camshaft is engineered to deliver notable horsepower gains and a broad torque curve, making it a great choice for performance street and strip applications. To really make this camshaft shine, you'll want to pair it with an aftermarket torque converter with at least a 2500 stall speed, lower gear ratios in your rear end, and a good intake and header setup. Keep in mind that this camshaft typically reduces vacuum at idle, so if your vehicle uses power brakes, you'll likely need to add a vacuum canister, pump, or hydroboost system to compensate.
This camshaft is intended for Chevrolet Big Block 396-454 engines originally equipped with flat tappet camshafts. It requires at least 9:1 compression to perform optimally. While it offers a rough idle and aggressive performance, it's important to note it is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
