Starting with a .165-inch wall thickness, even in the tapered ends, this COMP Cams pushrod is built to handle serious stress. That consistent, thicker wall is significantly stronger than the common .080-inch or .125-inch designs you'll find elsewhere. It's made from one-piece, heat-treated chromemoly tubing right here in the USA, a material that's much tougher than typical 1000 Series steels and can better handle extreme valve train setups.
The 7/16-inch diameter offers added stiffness and a higher natural frequency, which is a real advantage if your engine has plenty of intake port and lifter clearance. This design technology was originally developed for NASCAR and NHRA race engines, where pushrods can experience impact loads up to 7500 lbs. The ends feature a 5/16-inch ball with a 210-degree radius, giving extra clearance for the rocker adjuster at high lift and allowing the pushrod to be installed either way.
