These COMP Cams pushrods start with a .165-inch wall thickness, which is notably thicker and stiffer than the common .080-inch or .125-inch walls found in many other pushrods. This consistent thickness, even in the tapered ends, contributes to a stronger, more rigid component that can better handle the demands of high-lift camshafts and extreme valve train setups. They are constructed from one-piece, heat-treated chromemoly tubing, a material known for its strength and durability, making them well-suited for applications that experience significant impact loads.

The 7/16-inch diameter also adds stiffness and a higher natural frequency compared to smaller diameters, which is a real advantage when you have ample clearance in your intake ports and lifter bores. COMP Cams developed this technology for NASCAR and NHRA racing, where pushrods can face impact loads up to 7500 lbs.
