COMP Cams Pushrod 8.450in Straight 7/16

Starting with a .165-inch wall thickness, these COMP Cams pushrods are built significantly thicker and stiffer than common .080 or .125-inch wall designs. This consistent wall thickness, even in the tapered ends, contributes to a stronger, more rigid component that can better handle the demands of extreme valvetrain setups. The technology behind these pushrods was originally developed for NASCAR and NHRA race engines, where they experience impact loads of up to 7500 lbs. Using a pushrod that can withstand these forces is critical to preventing catastrophic engine failure.

These pushrods are made in the USA from one-piece, heat-treated chromemoly tubing. Chromemoly is a stronger material than typical 1000 Series steels, offering improved durability and performance under stress. The 7/16-inch diameter provides additional stiffness and a higher natural frequency, which is a notable advantage in applications with ample intake port and lifter clearance. The main bodies are straight, tapering down to a 210-degree radius at the ends. This radius, along with the 5/16-inch ball ends, offers extra clearance for the rocker adjuster at high lift, and allows for installation in either orientation.
