This COMP Cams Hi-Tech pushrod is made from a single piece of seamless .135" wall chromemoly steel, which makes it 37% stiffer than pushrods with a .080" wall. The 3/8" diameter and 8.380" length are common dimensions for many overhead valve engines, and the black oxide coating helps with corrosion resistance. It also features a 210 tip radius for proper valve train contact.
Using a stronger, stiffer pushrod helps ensure that valve lift is accurately transferred from the camshaft to the rocker arms, especially in higher-performance applications or when dealing with aggressive cam profiles. This one-piece design also eliminates potential failure points found in multi-piece pushrods.
