Starting with a .165-inch wall thickness, these COMP Cams Dual Taper pushrods are notably stiffer and stronger than previous .125-inch wall designs. This improved rigidity translates directly into more accurate valve motion, which is crucial for consistent engine performance. They are made in the USA from one-piece, heat-treated 4130 chromemoly steel tubing, a material known for its strength and durability, making them a solid option for many builds.

The unique dual taper design means the middle of the pushrod is larger in diameter than the ends. This provides the benefits of a larger 7/16-inch pushrod while still offering the clearance of a 3/8-inch pushrod, especially important for clearing rocker arm adjusters at peak lift and potentially offset roller lifters. Both 5/16-inch ball ends feature a 210-degree radius to further enhance rocker arm clearance.
