COMP Cams is well-known for making performance valvetrain components. This tool steel retainer is a prime example, offering a great balance of strength and light weight for your engine build. It's designed to work with 8mm valve stems and springs that have a 1.290-inch outer diameter, like their popular 26915 spring.
These retainers are made from high-grade tool steel, which gives them excellent strength and wear characteristics, even for demanding race applications. They are about 33% lighter than standard chromemoly steel retainers, and only a couple of grams heavier than titanium. Using the latest computer software for design and testing, COMP Cams machines these retainers on CNC equipment for consistent quality, and they've been tested at extreme RPMs.
