This hardened steel alloy seat spacer from COMP Cams is designed to protect your cylinder head and shim from the extreme spring pressures and high RPMs common in race engines. It serves a dual purpose: safeguarding the head and shim while accurately locating and securing the valve spring. Unlike older designs that required significant cylinder head machining, this updated version features an inside diameter (ID) locator with the locating shoulder on the inside, along with the spring cup.
For Big Block Chevrolet engines, this spacer eliminates the need to stack multiple shims under the valve spring. It has a .300 inch thickness, a 1.568 inch outer diameter for springs, and a .623 inch inner diameter. This well-built component ensures the spring stays properly positioned, even under demanding conditions.
