Product Details
If you're rebuilding the top end of a performance engine that sees high RPMs, you know that standard shims can't handle the extreme spring pressures. COMP Cams offers a straightforward fix with these valve spring locators. They act as a thin, hardened steel alloy seat that not only shields your cylinder head and any shim from the spring, but also keeps the spring centered and securely in place.
Unlike older designs that required significant cylinder head machining to fit an external cup, this locator features an inboard locating shoulder. This means the locating part is on the inside, and it also includes the spring cup. It's made from hardened steel, and the inboard shoulder helps center the seat and keep the spring from shifting. The 1.300-inch outer diameter works well with COMP Cams' 26981 beehive valve springs in applications using a .570-inch outer diameter guide.
