Product Details
With a 1.450 inch outer diameter and a .570 inch inner diameter, this valve spring locator is made from a hardened steel alloy. This material choice is important because it means the seat won't break down under the extreme spring pressures and high RPMs common in today's performance engines. It's designed to protect both the cylinder head and the shim underneath it, while also keeping the valve spring properly centered and held in place.
Unlike older designs that required significant machining to fit, this COMP Cams locator features an inboard locating shoulder. This means the centering and holding shoulder is on the inside, making installation simpler. The .060 inch thickness of this particular seat works well with COMP's 7256 conical valve springs, especially in applications with a .570 inch OD guide.
