This hardened steel alloy spring seat cup, measuring 1.670 inches on the outside and .640 inches on the inside, is built to handle the intense demands of high RPM and extreme spring pressures found in performance engines. Traditional shims often can't withstand these forces, leading to issues. COMP Cams developed this locator cup as a straightforward yet effective way to protect both the cylinder head and the shim underneath.
