Product Details
This COMP Cams spring seat cup is made from a thin, hardened steel alloy, measuring 1.745 inches in diameter and designed to fit a .570 inch spring. It's built to handle the extreme spring pressures and high RPMs common in performance and racing engines today. Old-style shims often can't withstand these demands, but this seat provides a solid solution.
Unlike older designs that required significant cylinder head machining for external retention, COMP Cams updated this part with an inside diameter (ID) locator. This means the locating shoulder is on the inside, making installation simpler. It not only protects the cylinder head and shim from damage but also helps to properly locate and hold the valve spring in place, ensuring consistent performance under stress.
