COMP Cams Spring Seats .045 X .520 X .8

This set includes 16 ID spring locators from COMP Cams. These are designed to handle the high spring pressures and RPMs found in modern performance engines, offering a more robust solution than older style shims. They are made from a hardened steel alloy that not only protects the cylinder head and any shim used, but also helps to properly locate and hold the valve spring in place.

Unlike previous designs that required significant machining to fit, these ID locators feature an inboard locating shoulder. This design centers the seat and keeps the spring stable. COMP Cams offers these in various sizes to fit different spring and valve guide configurations. This particular set is designed to work with COMP Beehive and Conical Valve Springs, and the 1.300" OD is a good match for their 7228 and 7230 conical springs in GM LS applications, properly locating springs with stock size .500" valve guides.
