If you're working on the valvetrain of a classic Mopar or other compatible engine, you'll need strong retainers to handle the increased pressure from performance valve springs. These COMP Cams Steel Retainers are built for that job. They are designed to work with valve springs that have a larger diameter, up to 1.550 inches, and are made from high-grade SAE 4140 chromemoly steel for solid support.
COMP Cams engineers used advanced computer modeling, including 3D CAD and FEA, to shape these retainers. This process helped them create a contoured top profile that reduces stress and mass while allowing for increased lift. Each retainer is CNC-machined to very precise measurements, ensuring a consistent fit with your valve springs and keepers. The black oxide finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance.
