They're made from high-grade SAE 4140 chromemoly steel, which is a strong material for this application. The engineers used 3D CAD and FEA to design a contoured top profiling. This design helps reduce stress and mass, while also allowing for increased lift.
Each retainer is CNC-machined to very precise tolerances using CAD/Cam software, ensuring they fit right with your valve springs. They are designed to work with valve springs that have a diameter between 1.500 inches and 1.550 inches. This set includes 12 retainers, which is what you'll typically need for a V8 engine.
