COMP Cams Titanium Super 7 Valve Lock 1

When you're rebuilding the top end of your engine, getting the valve train components right is crucial. What you get in this package is a set of 16 COMP Cams Titanium Super 7 Valve Locks, also known as keepers. These are specifically designed to work with 8-degree valve spring retainers and 11/32-inch valve stems.

These valve locks are made from titanium, which is a strong and lightweight material. The design features a tang, but its main job is to temporarily position the lock, retainer, and spring until the retainer's taper can seat around the lock. This creates a collet effect, binding everything together. The tighter the spring force, the more secure the connection becomes. It's important that the valve locks match your valve size precisely; if the two halves fit together with no gap, they're too large, and if there's a gap between the middle of the lock and the valve stem, they're too small.
