The Micro Surface Enhancement (MSE) finishing process on these COMP Cams HRT camshafts is a notable detail, increasing strength and performance by reducing surface roughness. This process also provides a 250% improvement in the effective load bearing area, allowing for much higher loads. These are the newest lobe designs from COMP Cams, specifically developed for turbo and supercharged engines to produce significant power and torque increases. The HRT series is organized into stages, and this Stage 2 kit is designed for builds using larger turbochargers, optimized for low backpressure hot side setups and tested to pull strongly past 7500 RPM.

The lobe profiles in this kit feature COMP Cams' "Low Shock Technology" (LST). This design aims to maximize horsepower gains while also improving stability at higher RPMs. A key benefit of LST is that these profiles are easier on your valve springs, which can enhance durability and reduce load loss over time.
