COMP Cams Valve Locks 11/32in Four Groove

If you're rebuilding a stock Ford 351 Cleveland, 400, or 351 Modified engine, these COMP Cams valve locks are a solid option. They're made from hardened steel and feature a four-groove design with a 7-degree angle, specifically sized for an 11/32-inch valve stem. These are intended as a direct replacement for stock applications, especially when you're dealing with lighter valve spring loads on street-driven vehicles.

It's important to get the right fit for your valve locks. If the two halves of the lock come together without any gap when properly seated on the valve stem, they're too large. Conversely, if they fit too tightly and leave a gap between the middle of the lock and the stem's outer surface, they're too small. Remember, the tang on the valve lock's purpose is only to temporarily position the lock, retainer, and spring. The real holding power comes from the retainer's taper creating a 'collet' effect that binds the lock and retainer together as spring pressure increases.
