They are designed for a 3/8 inch valve stem size and feature a 7-degree angle, making them a direct replacement for many applications. It's important to ensure your valve locks match your valve size precisely; if the two halves fit together without a gap, they are too large, and if they are too small, they won't seat properly.

These locks are made from hardened steel and are intended for street applications with lighter valve spring loads. While the tang on the lock helps temporarily position the retainer and spring, the primary holding force comes from the retainer's taper creating a 'collet' effect. This means the retainer grips the lock tightly as spring pressure increases, keeping everything secure.
