These COMP Cams valve seals are made from Viton, a material known for its excellent sealing properties and ability to handle higher temperatures and pressures found in performance builds. They are designed to fit engines with 5/16 inch valve stems and .425 inch valve guide outer diameters.
These seals have a .565 inch outer diameter and are specifically chosen for their ability to provide great sealing while also offering good spring clearance. Using Viton material helps ensure that oil doesn't leak past the valve guides into the combustion chamber, which can cause smoking and affect performance.
