If you're building a high-performance Chevy 327 small journal engine for racing, especially with nitrous or forced induction, a strong rotating assembly is the heart of your build. At its core is a 3.000-inch forged 4340 steel crankshaft, chosen for its strength and durability under high loads. The assembly features 2.300-inch main journals and 6.125-inch H-beam connecting rods, known for their robust construction and ability to withstand significant forces. These rods are secured with 7/16-inch ARP 8740 bolts, a popular choice for their reliability in high-stress environments. The included Icon forged 2618 aluminum pistons have a 12.7cc dome and are sized for a 4.030-inch bore, paired with plasma-moly file-fit rings for efficient sealing and performance. To complete the package, King XP rod and main bearings are included, offering excellent performance and wear resistance.
