If you're building a high-performance Chevy 454 for serious racing, a balanced rotating assembly is a critical starting point. This assembly features a forged 4340 crankshaft with a 4.000-inch stroke, providing the displacement and strength needed for powerful builds. Connecting the crank to the pistons are 6.135-inch H-beam connecting rods, known for their robust design and ability to withstand high stress. These rods are secured with 7/16-inch ARP 8740 bolts, a popular choice for their reliability in performance applications. The pistons are forged 2618 aluminum from Icon, featuring a 43cc dome shape and a 4.250-inch bore size, designed to work with the included plasma-moly file-fit piston rings. To ensure smooth operation and durability, the assembly also includes King XP rod and main bearings.
