If you're building a high-performance Chevy 454 engine for serious racing, a balanced rotating assembly is a critical starting point. This Eagle Competition Rotating Assembly is designed to handle the demands of racing, including the extra stress from nitrous or forced induction setups. At the heart of this assembly is a 4.000-inch forged 4340 crankshaft, known for its strength and ability to withstand extreme loads. Paired with it are 6.135-inch H-beam connecting rods, which are a popular choice for their solid construction and reliability. These rods are secured with 7/16-inch ARP 8740 bolts, a name trusted for their high tensile strength and consistent clamping force. The pistons are forged 2618 aluminum from Icon, featuring a 43cc dome and a 4.310-inch bore size, designed to work with the specific cylinder head volume for your build. This assembly also includes plasma-moly file-fit piston rings, which offer good sealing and wear characteristics, and King XP rod and main bearings, selected for their performance and durability in demanding applications.
