If you're building a serious Chevy 502 big block for extreme competition, like heavy nitrous use or high boost applications, a strong rotating assembly is the heart of your build. At its core is a 4.250-inch forged 4340 steel crankshaft featuring center counterweighting. These rods are secured with 7/16-inch ARP L19 bolts, a popular choice for their high tensile strength and ability to withstand extreme cylinder pressures. The assembly also includes 4.625-inch forged 2618 JE pistons. These are gas-ported dome pistons designed for 46cc combustion chambers, helping to optimize compression and combustion efficiency. They come with plasma-moly file-fit rings, allowing for precise gap setting to match your specific application and ensure good sealing. Finally, the assembly is completed with King XP rod and main bearings, which offer improved durability and performance under heavy loads.
