If you're building a high-performance Pontiac 400 engine for serious street or track use, a strong rotating assembly is the heart of the operation. This assembly starts with a 4.250-inch forged 4340 crankshaft, known for its strength and durability under high stress. Paired with it are 6.800-inch H-beam connecting rods, which are a popular choice for their robust design and ability to withstand significant loads. These rods use 7/16-inch ARP 8740 bolts, a well-regarded fastener known for its reliability. The pistons are forged 4032 Mahle units with an inverted dome design, featuring a -22cc volume and a 4.185-inch bore size, complete with plasma-moly file-fit rings for a precise seal. To top it off, King XP rod and main bearings are included, offering excellent wear resistance and performance.
