If you're looking to get more performance out of your AMC V8, these Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads are a solid choice. They're designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for a wide range of AMC vehicles from 1967 to 1991, including models like the AMX, Javelin, and various Jeep applications with 343, 360, 390, or 401 engines. These heads are built to improve airflow, especially in the mid- to high-lift range of your camshaft, which can make a noticeable difference in how your engine performs at higher RPMs.

Edelbrock has engineered these heads with a few key features to make them a comprehensive upgrade. They come complete with larger-than-stock valve springs, ready to handle most high-lift camshafts you might install. The intake flange is dual-drilled to fit both early and late model AMC intake bolt patterns, and they include provisions for both 1/2" head bolts on 1970 and later engines, as well as step-dowel pins for pre-1970 engines. The dual-quench combustion chambers are designed to achieve around 9.5:1 compression with a 401 V8, and the 45-degree intake seat angle helps improve flow compared to the stock 30-degree angle. Plus, they feature a machined heat crossover, making them 50-state emissions legal for performance applications.

These heads are set up for small-block Ford-style adjustable 1.6:1 ratio rockers, and include adjustable rocker studs and guide plates. The ports are in the stock location, so you can use your standard manifolds and headers. While these offer a significant performance improvement, please note they are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
