The Edelbrock #60985 E-Tec cylinder head features an LT1-style raised runner intake port design, which significantly increases airflow compared to standard Vortec heads. This design choice is key to unlocking better performance, especially in the 302, 327, 350, and 400 cubic inch Small Block Chevrolet engines that use "Vortec-style" manifolds.

Inside, the unique combustion chamber design places the spark plug closer to the center of the cylinder. This promotes a more efficient burn, translating directly into more power from your engine. This head is built to work with hydraulic roller cams and includes an adjustable rocker stud and guide plate setup. This setup allows for proper stud height adjustment to accommodate factory self-aligning rocker arms, or it can be used with adjustable rockers. The deck surfaces are thicker than many competing heads, offering a solid foundation for your build.

You can expect about 20% more exhaust flow than a cast iron Vortec head, with performance that holds strong up to 6000 rpm. When used in a 350 cubic-inch engine with stock pistons, these heads can achieve a 9.5:1 compression ratio. The RPM E-Tec cylinder head is dual-drilled, meaning it accepts both 1987-95 center bolt and 1986 and earlier perimeter flange mount valve covers, and it will also clear most stock exhaust manifolds.
