This head features a heavy-duty casting with an extra-thick deck and more material around the spring pockets. This makes it strong enough to handle high-lift camshafts and stiff spring combinations without issue. The intake ports are large oval-shaped, measuring 367cc on the intake side and 377cc on the exhaust side, and they flow impressively right out of the box. To further improve exhaust flow and power, the exhaust ports are raised by .750 inches. Edelbrock also offers off-the-shelf intake manifolds designed to work with these large oval ports.
