These valve spring seat cups are designed to work with specific Edelbrock valve springs on Small Block Chevy, 289-351W Ford, 318-360 Chrysler, and Pontiac cylinder heads. Their main job is to create a hardened barrier between the base of your valve springs and the aluminum cylinder heads.
This hardened steel barrier does two important things. First, it prevents the valve springs from directly contacting and potentially damaging the softer aluminum head material over time. Second, it positively locates the spring, stopping unwanted movement that could affect valve train stability. You get a set of 16 cups, enough for a complete engine rebuild.
