Edelbrock SB Oldsmobile Performer RPM Cylinder Heads for Hydraulic Roller Cam

Starting with a 356-T6 aluminum casting, these Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads are a significant upgrade for your Small-Block Oldsmobile 350 or 403 cubic inch engine, especially when running a hydraulic roller camshaft. They are designed to work with a factory-style mechanical fuel pump, offering a modern solution for builders who need that compatibility. The 68 cc combustion chambers are carefully sized to achieve a more desirable compression ratio for a small-block engine, avoiding the lower compression that can sometimes result from larger chambers found in other heads. These heads require a minimum bore of 3.9375 inches and feature an updated chamber design with optimized spark plug placement for better combustion efficiency.

You'll see improved airflow thanks to the factory 6-degree valve angle and generous port volumes: 200 cc for the intake and 130 cc for the exhaust. The intake valves measure 2.072 inches and the exhaust valves are 1.680 inches, all positioned in their original locations for compatibility with existing manifolds and headers. The deck thickness has been increased, with extra material above the intake port and pre-counterbored holes for 0.5-inch diameter studs, which helps provide stronger clamping force where it's needed most. The valvetrain uses a stud-and-guide plate system, a solid foundation for larger diameter pushrods, and Helicoil inserts are used in the exhaust and rocker stud holes to ensure secure bolt retention.

These heads fit a wide range of vehicles from 1965 through 1979, including popular models like the Oldsmobile Cutlass, Delta 88, and Buick Skylark. While they can be fitted to Big-Block Oldsmobile engines, the 68cc chamber size is not ideal for those applications as it will raise compression too much. Be aware that there are no provisions for a heat crossover on these heads.
