This 0.320-inch thick heat insulator gasket from Edelbrock is designed to go directly against your manifold, helping to prevent fuel percolation in carburetors that are exposed to high under-hood temperatures. It's specifically made for square-bore carburetors and features an open center, which is important for sealing properly with open plenum manifolds like Torker and Victor styles.
When you're installing this, you'll need to remove your carburetor and old base gasket. Edelbrock includes extended carburetor studs with this kit because the heat insulator adds a bit of height.
