The friction surface is a heat-treated plate designed for optimal grip and a long life, and it's a bolt-on replaceable part. This means if the friction surface wears out over time, you don't need to replace the whole flywheel; just the plate. It also features a replaceable hardened 1050 steel ring gear, which is crucial for reliable starting. Fidanza uses military-spec fasteners to ensure everything stays securely in place, adding to the reliability of this well-built component.
