This is the Ford Racing 427 cubic inch crate engine, built on a BOSS 351 block, designed to give your 1985-1995 Ford Mustang over 500 horsepower. It's a modern take on the legendary 427 FE engine, engineered for both reliable daily driving and serious power output. If you're looking to significantly boost the performance of your Mustang or another Ford project, this engine offers a robust package that's ready to go.

What sets this engine apart are the Ford Performance 'Z2' Cylinder Heads. These heads are designed to improve power across the entire RPM range, and they retain factory mounting locations for exhaust and accessories, making installation smoother compared to some other aftermarket heads. It comes with a new block, oil and water pumps, a performance oil pan with a windage tray and scraper that holds 9 quarts, and a high-performance harmonic balancer. The front sump oil pan is specifically chosen to fit most kit cars and many Mustang applications without requiring a Mustang II suspension. A fuel pump eccentric is installed, allowing for the use of a mechanical fuel pump.

While this engine is internally balanced and requires a neutral balance flywheel, it's important to note what's not included. You'll need to source your own intake manifold, distributor (an MSD #85840 is recommended, with potential modifications needed for intake clearance), and flywheel. The recommended intake is the Edelbrock #2924 Super Victor. This engine is designed to run on premium unleaded fuel, with a recommended maximum RPM of 5,600. Keep in mind this engine is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
