If you're looking to seriously upgrade the performance of your 1985-1995 Ford Mustang, this Ford Racing Z460 crate engine is a massive step up. This 460 cubic inch powerhouse is built to deliver 575 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque, making it a strong contender for both street driving and track days. It's based on the robust Ford Performance Boss block and topped with high-port, high-flow Z-Heads, designed to breathe easy and make serious power.

Inside, you'll find premium components assembled with performance clearances right here in the USA. This includes a SCAT forged steel crankshaft, SCAT forged H-beam connecting rods, Mahle forged pistons, and Clevite bearings – all chosen for their strength and reliability under demanding conditions. The engine comes equipped with a 9-quart steel front sump oil pan featuring a louvered windage tray and crankshaft scraper to manage oil effectively at high RPMs. A Ford Performance long-type water pump and intake manifold gaskets are also included, so you're getting a well-rounded package to get your build started.

Keep in mind that this engine requires a premium unleaded fuel and is internally balanced, meaning you'll need a neutral balance flywheel. A distributor is not included, and you'll need a steel distributor gear. For optimal performance, Ford recommends an Edelbrock Super Victor intake manifold and a Holley 850 CFM carburetor, along with long tube headers.
